Overcoming Life’s Complications

Reading: Mark 3:31-35

For whoever does the will of God is my brother and my sister and my mother. (Mark 3:35 – NKJV)

Life sometimes seems like a maze, but does it really have to be that way?

I don’t know about you but when I set out on the road I want to know where I’m going; and if I’m not going anywhere I want to know that too.

Life becomes very simple when you start your day by knowing what it is you have to do and where you are going. And I am not talking about having a grocery list of all you have to do that day.  When I start my day I know there are only two things I have to do: I have to believe God and I have to love my neighbour, whatever it takes to accomplish those goals. There is nothing else of any importance.

It doesn’t matter what profession you are in, or if you are retired. Those two things cover it all. You will always have to believe what God says in His Word, and you will always have to love your neighbor.

Keep those two things at the forefront of your mind, and I guarantee you will be set free as you have never been in your life before.

The Simple Life

I said, “God I can’t do it.

This Christian life’s too hard.

Too many things I must do;

Be always on my guard.

I must do this, and I can’t do that;

I might offend a brother.

If I don’t do this I’ll make life hard

For my sister and my mother.

 

“And the folks at work are so hard to please;

Nothing I do satisfies them.

And the boss is so mean, the worst that I’ve seen,

And the things that I need, I can’t find them.

And when I get home the kids have been bad,

And my wife’s in a frazzle and then some;

The dishes aren’t washed, the TV is broken,

And besides all that, Lord, I’m done.

 

“My child,” God said, “Don’t worry and fret:

Life is simple if you can understand it.

Just believe what I say and love in My way,

And your heart will grow strong, Ill expand it.

My yoke is easy, and my burden is light;

There is nothing we can’t do together.

Just believe that I’m kind; it is sure you will find

Peace and joy in all kinds of weather.
